The name is Zeb. I arrived at SWAT on December 30th after what seemed like eternity, living completely on my own. It was me and my two brothers living on our own, outside. We never went anywhere, we never saw our human and because of that, we never saw food or water that wasn't frozen to the dish. We also didn't have any shelter from the cold so we relied on each other for warmth. One morning, I woke up shivering and, as always, hungry. My two brothers never stirred. They went to sleep and they stayed that way. I tried waking them, but they never moved. Once day, that very special day, some humans with uniforms showed up to where I was living and offered me some food, which is something I hadn't seen in I can't tell you how long. They also offered a warm place to sit in their car. Well, they gave me food and they were being nice to me so I went for it. I soaked up all of the attention they could give me. The pats on the head and belly rubs were the best. Even though all they could feel were my bones, they still scratched and petted every inch of me. It was the best feeling in the world. We went joyriding around for awhile until we arrived at SWAT. The humans, who I later learned were called officers, brought me to SWAT and I've been here ever since. My other human, the one who left me and my brothers behind, wound up living in a kennel (you call it jail) so I don't have to worry about him anymore. Now I can move on to find a family who will treat me the way I should have been treated long ago. I'm a 2 year old Boxer/Hound mix. I have a Boxer face, longer than normal ears and a nose like a hound, a tail that sometimes curls and a coat that no one has seen before. I call it handsome...that's what I am. I love to eat and almost took the humans out when it came to dinner. Now I sit politely and wait for my dish to be served. I know I won't be starved anymore...I don't have to fight for it. I have been learning basic manners and excelling. I wasn't housebroken when I came to SWAT. Now, I never have accidents and I know the dog door inside and out, literally. I love to play with the other dogs. I think I might do better without larger, male dogs around. I do, ehh, okay with them, but I like hanging out with the girls more. I think tiny humans are pretty awesome. I could use a few of them in my life.
